Ref the use of ILS Admin Team user account - why, when, etc.

This is reserved for occasions where a decision has not been taken by a single Admin or Mod, but by a discussion/vote among a number of Admins. As such, it accurately reflects the fact that this is a decision by the majority of the Admin team (who were available at the time), rather than one individual.

Any individual admin may have voted against the decision, but we agreed at the outset to work with a majority vote, as outlined in our procedures. In fact, any of the admins may have voted against the decision or not voted at all, including whoever eventually posts the result. Therefore posting in his username does not aid transparency at all. Whose name should go on the post in this situation? As it can only be used when a majority of admins available have agreed, it should offer reassurance to users that it is not a result of any individual admin's alleged 'agenda'.

That principal has been in the Appeals Procedure from the start. The facility is also approriate to use in situations where a sensitive situation is discussed and dealt with a multiple Admins, as a reassurance to users that an individual Admin is not acting alone. Note that all moderation actions made under the ILF Admin Team account may be Appealed in the same way as any other Moderator action. No individual Admin has authority to accept or overturn an appeal. It requires an anonymous majority vote.

Copied from the Appeals Procedure post: (a change was required to use the 'ILS Admin Team' by post/PM rather than the 'appeals@...... ' email account, as some users are losing emails from the site into their Junk mail folders. This has not yet been updated in the document).
  • All appeals will be put to the entire Mod group for discussion.
  • In the interests of a speedy resolution the Mods will normally have 24 hours to discuss the case, though it will be given whatever time is required. At the end of that discussion there will be a poll to uphold or change the original action.
  • The poll will be anonymous, and all Admins on the site will be entitled to vote.
  • Providing at least 3 Admins (or 5 where a ban is involved) have voted after 24 hours the poll will close and the majority decision will be accepted.
  • If the required minimum number of votes have not been placed within 24 hours, the poll will remain open until the minimum number have voted.
  • The user will be informed of the decision by email from appeal@irishleaguesupportesrs.com
  • That is the end of the appeal procedure, and the decision is final unless any new evidence is forthcoming.
